ZIMBABWEAN BASED PARTNERS

Zimnat has played a pivotal part in the LevelUp mentorship program by being the first company to not only provide mentors (including their CEO Mustafa Sachak) but also to provide their main boardroom as a venue for the strategy sessions during the inaugural LevelUp program. They are the leading insurance provider in Zimbabwe and with their recent partnership with Sanlam, has boosted their depth of offerings. 

RioZim has been a constant in the LevelUp Mentorship Program by being our greatest support structure. The giant mining company has supplied the bulk of mentors for the mentorship pilot projects. RioZim mentors have also given group Strategy Sessions at their homes as well as offered their boardroom for mentees to have their sessions. 

We have the privilege of having one of Zimbabwe’s top Strategic Advisory firms as a Strategic Partner for UbuntuLab. Their founder, Ethel Kuuya, has been a strategic mentor since the conception of the LevelUp program. The mentees have the privilege of visiting the Advisory K office where they participate in an interactive session called “Are you and Entrepreneur ?” They are then given a tour of the offices and inspired to think differently about themselves and business. 

Our mentees have had the privilege of spending time with the General Manager and Executive Head Natalie Jambangwe, who is a strategic mentor in the program. Mentees visit the Ecocash office and participate in a strategy session with the youngest General Manager in Africa. Ecocash are very engaged in trying to improve the ease in which entrepreneurs access mobile money and have a big role to play in the emerging future of entrepreneurs in Zimbabwe and Africa.

IbuHub is an innovation and co-working space with a pan-african viewpoint on entrepreneurship. UbuntuLab has partnered with IbuHub on developing some of Zimbabwe’s upcoming entrepreneurs through initiatives such as the Young Entrepreneurial Women’s (YEW) Hackathon. UbuntuLab also develops and facilitates some of IbuHub’s programs. The two institutions work well together and complement each others’ offerings.

UNDP- Is the lead in the Hub Konnect initiative that links hubs across Africa thought mostly virtual engagements. UNDP has far reach across the continent and their influence has allowed numerous institutions to get involved in breaking the man-made barriers and creating a platform of ideas/experience exchange. UbuntuLab is the Creative Facilitator for Hub Konnect and works closely with UNDP to make sure Zimbabwean hubs are connected with their continental counterparts.

Bizhub Zimbabwe is a trendy exclusive business community & working space for business owners and companies. They have worked closely with UbuntuLab by providing space to host the opening and closing ceremony for the LevelUp mentorship program. Biz hub also provides access to their extensive network of business leaders as guest speakers and mentors.

SOUTH AFRICA

 

An innovation and co-working hub that houses entrepreneurs and artists in downtown Johannesburg. UbuntuLab is working closely with The Formation to create programs for their entrepreneurs to develop and challenge them. From interactive workshops to mentorship programs, this partnership has a lot in store in the near future. 

Green Building Design Group

SOUTH AFRICA

 

GreenBDG are a Non Profit Organisation which focus on benign together the various stockholders in the Green Economy in South Africa. UbuntuLab has been the Creative Facilitator for the annual Going Green Conference and quarterly Green Cafes that GreenBDG host. This strategic partnership has the two organisations organising the first Green Hackathon in Johannesburg in August 2018 as well as other green entreprurial initiatives across the continent. 

Liquid Telecom

KENYA

 

Liquid Telecom are the front runners in laying fiber throughout Africa. They have realised the importance of the entrepreneurs narrative in bettering Africa and have committed to playing a part by linking Hubs across Africa virtually through an initiative called Hub Konnect.  On a monthly basis, hubs across the continent engage virtually and these engagements are made possible by Liquid telecom. UbuntuLab is the Creative Facilitator for Hub Konnect and works closely with Liquid to make sure Zimbabwean hubs are connected with their continental counterparts.

Future Leaders is a global initiative that focuses on self-management, leadership , impact and sustainability. With much success in Europe, they are looking to co-create new leadership initiatives in Africa, with Zimbabwe being the first country to work with. UbuntuLab has been identified as their Strategic Partner in Zimbabwe, with Future Leaders already having tested their methodologies on UbuntuLab participants.

Adizes

UNITED STATES

 

The Adizes Institute is a Strategic Management and Leadership firm based in California. They understand the importance of providing global leadership and management material to emerging markets and have provided their Top Leaf Entrepreneurship material to the LevelUp mentees to use. UbuntuLab is the first and only African country to have a Strategic partnership with the Adizes Institute.

Prescensing Institute
UNITED STATES

 

The Presencing Institute was founded in 2006 by MIT Sloan School of Management in order to create an action research platform at the intersection of science, consciousness, and profound social and organizational change. They realise that Africa needs to be part of the global mindset shift and has created an initiative called Ubuntu.Lab, an interactive way of co-creating Africa’s future. UbuntuLab is the National Co-ordinator for this continental initiative. Our mandate is to organise national facilitators and co-ordinate various hubs to co-create a new way of thinking and being in Zimbabwe.

Seedstars World promotes, connects and invests up to $1 million USD  in emerging market startups through its intensive emerging market competition in over 60 countries. UbuntuLab has assisted Seedstars as a mentor for its Zimbabwean, African and global entrepreneurs.
